PROJECT SUMMARY:
Installation of new retaining walls and a box culvert to
control stormwater flow.
PROJECT SOLUTION:
Over 1,500 square feet of Hercules Neptune retain walls were
placed to line the channel. The gaps in the blocks were
planted with sedum. Also in this project were several
miscellaneous grade controls, such as coir logs with TRM's.
Additionally there was installation of live stake plantings and
a guard rail as well as light paving around the site.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
During construction it was found that the existing culvert was
ready to collapse so Ideal was contracted to install
approximately 36 feet of 8'x4' box culvert. These
sections weighed over 10,000 pounds each. The size
and weight of the sections forced Ideal to bring out the big
guns and we enlisted the biggest backhoe used up until that
date on any St. Louis project to set them into place.
