PROJECT SUMMARY:
Installation of modular block wall behind six residences to
control severe erosion from the Hardwood storm channel which
had begun encroaching onto private property.
PROJECT SOLUTION:
A Hercules Mega Retaining wall was constructed to stop the
erosion. The wall was 600 feet long and 6 feet tall
consisting of 130 pound blocks which were each laid by hand.
Restoration of sod and other plants was added to restore the
area to its previous aesthetic condition. Additionally,
new chain link fence was also installed to keep people away
from the channel.
SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
Access to the project was through the channel itself, making
construction cramped and difficult.
