Spotlighting Excellence: Meet Ideal’s Newest Employee Spotlight

Meet Nathan Howell, our next featured Employee Spotlight! Nathan has been a valuable part of the Ideal team for over a decade, showcasing his dedication and versatility in various roles.

Starting during his high school years, Nathan initially joined our snow crews before transitioning to a full-time position on our Maintenance team. His journey then led him to becoming a crew leader and eventually making the transition to our Irrigation team.

With years of experience and a strong work ethic, Nathan has recently stepped into the role of Irrigation Manager, following in the footsteps of his father. This internal promotion highlights our goal of nurturing talent within our organization, and fostering motivation, retention, and trust among our team members.

Silas Dill, our General Manager, speaks highly of Nathan’s journey: “Nathan Howell is a great example of our commitment to internal growth at Ideal. His positive attitude and strong work ethic have made a lasting impact in his various roles, leading to his well-deserved promotion to Irrigation Manager. Nathan’s journey, with its highs and lows, has shaped him into a leader within our Irrigation Department.”

Building Tomorrow: Updates from Ideal’s Construction Projects

Completed Projects:

  • Deer Creek Trail: Enhancing outdoor accessibility and enjoyment.
  • Brooks Park Trail: Creating pathways for nature enthusiasts.
  • White House Retreat: Revitalizing landscapes for serene retreat experiences.

New Park Projects:

  • Millennium Park for the City of Creve Coeur 
  • Turner Park for the City of Rock Hill

Upcoming Ventures:

Stormwater Improvement Project for the City of Frontenac
An extensive initiative beginning in April 2024, targeting completion by May 2025. Budgeted at $3.9 million, features include over 7000 feet of storm pipe installation, storm sewer systems, manholes, inlets, and water retention basins to combat runoff.

Vlasis Park – City of Ballwin
An exciting $1.6 million project to replace and upgrade the existing playgrounds. Features include age-specific playground areas, shelters, splash pads, retaining walls, and enhanced surfacing for safety and enjoyment.

St. Louis Community College at Forest Park
Introducing a new 1/2-acre naturalized playground area. Elements such as specialized play areas, a dry stream with a bridge, a synthetic turf toddler area, and landscape enhancements will create a dynamic and inviting space for learning and play.

Care in Every Detail: Ideal’s Maintenance Updates

Our Maintenance team has been busy making improvements that enhance both functionality and aesthetics.

Q1 Renovations:

In the first quarter, we revamped three dog parks at the Humane Society. This included replacing traditional grass with pet-friendly astroturf, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for our furry friends.

Q2 Projects:

We’re starting up work at another Starbucks site. Our focus is on installing new landscaping around the building. This not only boosts curb appeal but also creates a welcoming atmosphere for customers to relax and enjoy their visit.

Our commitment to enhancing spaces continues, ensuring that every area we work on is inviting and enjoyable for all. Stay tuned for more updates as we dive into new projects in the coming months.
